DOH Donor Community

How it Works

The Dispensary of Hope’s Donor Community and the Automatic Bin System make it easy for health care providers to help provide prescription medication for low-income, uninsured Americans. Here’s how it works:

  •  Each Donor Community Member is provided with everything they need to donate sample medicines. This includes a donation bin and pre-paid shipping.
  •  Similar to a monthly recycling pick-up, each Donor Community Member is assigned a monthly Donation Day. On that day, DOH’s shipping carrier will pick-up your donation bin and deliver a new one on that day or soon after (depending on the length of ship time to your location). All you have to do is fill the bin with the unexpired, sample medications you wish to donate and seal with the provided zip-ties.
  • Once the donation arrives at Dispensary of Hope facilities in Nashville, TN, the medication is processed, entered into our inventory system, e-Hope, and made available for order by all of our Dispensing Sites.
  •  After each donation is received, Donor Community Members receive a detailed Donation Receipt of what they included in their shipment.
