CAP: PDF Problems

Adobe Update Needed
June 2011

Several sites have reported they're unable to open some of the manufacturer's PAP applications that the prescribers have to sign.  We looked into it and realized we were having the same issue.  It turns out to be a problem with Adobe Reader.

The fix:  Download the latest version of Adobe Reader.  It takes just a few minutes to download and you have to restart your computer once it's finished.  To download, go to: get.adobe.com/reader/

Continued Access Application in Spanish

See Resources
April 2011

Many of you have asked for some of our documents in Spanish in order to better serve your Spanish-speaking patients.  We listened and have just finalized the translation of our Continued Access Program application to Spanish. You still must enter the patient into eHope and print the English application , but you can now provide a Spanish cover letter and notice of privacy practices.  On your welcome screen, under "Resources", click "Auto PAP: Spanish Application".

CAP: No Longer Accepting Last 2 Paycheck Stubs

March 2011

For our baseline eligibility criteria, we are no longer accepting a patient's last 2 paycheck stubs as proof of income for PAP.  However, if you are familiar with the manufacturer's program to which your patient will ultimately be applying  and you know that the manufacturer does in fact accept paycheck stubs, you may still send them as proof of income.

CAP: "Express" Formulary Changes

March 2011

Novartis is now allowing the Dispensary of Hope to provide Amturnide and Tekamlo through our central-fill/mail-order pharmacy for PAP.  Now, patients living in Tennessee can receive these meds in as little as 3 days!

Sanofi-Aventis, on the other hand, has restricted the Dispensary of Hope from filling any prescriptions for new patients through our central-fill pharmacy.  These meds will still be available through traditional PAP.
