Dispensary of Hope Breaks Ground on Mail-Order Pharmacy
-New Facility to Provide Patients with Easier Access to Necessary Medications-

(Nashville, Tenn.) – The Dispensary of Hope, a not-for-profit provider of free prescription
medicines to Tennesseans who can’t afford them or lack access to them, is pleased to
announce the ground breaking of their mail-order pharmacy.

Through partnerships with pharmaceutical manufacturers, physicians, corporations and
dispensing partners, the Dispensary of Hope has created a network that provides much
needed relief to uninsured patients by distributing necessary medications.

“Based on our current operations, we saw an immediate need for the mail-order service and
today we’re pleased to take the next steps to make this a reality,” said Scott Cornwell,
managing director of the Dispensary of Hope.

The pharmacy, scheduled to open for operation in the fall, will be located at the Dispensary
of Hope headquarters in Nashville. Currently there are three operating dispensing sites
located in Nashville, Murfreesboro and Knoxville with a Johnson City location projected to
open mid-summer.

“The mail-order pharmacy will allow us to better serve our current patients by eliminating
the need for them to re-visit the clinic when their prescriptions need to be refilled. It also
enables us to spend more time meeting the needs of our new patients,” said Cornwell.

Currently, approximately 50 percent of the 4500 prescriptions being filled each month at the
Dispensary of Hope clinics are refills. The mail-order pharmacy will allow patients to
receive their medication directly at their homes within three to five days.

The project is funded by donations from the state of Tennessee, the Saint Thomas Health
Services Foundation and the Baptist Healing Trust Fund.
